- Harrison School for Arts’ Spring Chorus Concert will feature special guest star “Monroe Crossing” on in the Main Theatre.


Tram Nature Tour

Venue: Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland
- Take a personalized tour of the Banana Creek Marsh with a volunteer guide who will point out plants, birds and history of the property.


Book Club at Polk County History Center
Date: Tuesday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 13
Venue: Polk County History Center, Bartow
- On Tuesday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 13, bring a lunch and join the History Center for a group discussion of the Florida classic, A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith.


Downtown Lakeland Food Truck Rally

Thursday, May 8
Venue: Munn Park, Lakeland
- Stop by Downtown Lakeland to enjoy a variety of Florida food trucks and their delicious cuisine on the second Thursday monthly.


Orchestra Concert
Date: Thursday, May 8
Venue: Harrison School for the Arts, Lakeland
- Harrison School for the Arts’ spring orchestra concert will feature the two winners from the Harrison Concerto Competition, Logan Faulkner and Kent Lambert.


Pops by the Lake
Date:
Friday, May 9
Venue: Lake Mirror Amphitheatre, Lakeland
- The Imperial Symphony Orchestra’s “Pops by the Lake” will perform a free concert
including a mix of pops and light classical favorites.


Adaptive Water Ski Event
Date:
Saturday, May 10
Venue: Lake Silver, Winter Haven
- With adaptive water ski equipment and the Cypress Gardens water skiers, amputees, paralyzed individuals, and mentally challenged adults and children ages six and older may enjoy water skiing.
- This year 30 wounded warriors have reserved ski time.


Family Fun Days

Venue: Polk County History Center, Bartow
- The history center invites families to enjoy a day of arts and crafts on the second Saturday of each month.


MIDFLORIDA Mayfaire-by-the-Lake
Date: Saturday, May 10 – Sunday, May 11
Venue: Lake Morton, Lakeland
- MIDFLORIDA Mayfaire by-the-Lake has grown into one of Florida’s premier outdoor art festivals and is listed among Sunshine Artist magazine’s “Top 100 Best Fine Art Shows.”


Mother’s Day Carillon Concerts and Plant Sale
Date: Sunday, May 11
Venue: Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales
-  Free admission will be offered to all mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day, and families are encouraged to give the living bouquet of landscape gardens created by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. to the special mothers in their lives.


Over 55 Show Band

Venue:  Polk State College, Winter Haven
- The Over 55 Show Band is composed of musicians ranging in age from 40 to 80, and the band has been performing in the area for more than 20 years.
