Aching Quad
Date: Friday, September 13 – Saturday, September 14
Venue: Lakeland

Aching Quad is a race that boasts four runs in 24 hours and will begin with a 5K around Lake Hollingsworth on Friday, a one-mile run on Saturday, a two-mile run around Lake Hunter Saturday, and will end with another 5K on Lake Hollingsworth.


7th Annual Gala

Venue: Ramon Theater, Frostproof
- Join the Ramon Theater for an evening of food, fun, dancing, entertainment and more at the 7th Annual Gala.
- Sheriff­ Grady Judd will be the Honorary Guest Emcee, and guests can enjoy the heavy Hors d’Oeuvres and a cash bar.

Cardboard Boat Challenge & Lakes Festival

This family-friendly event will feature exhibitors, children’s activities, food vendors, live music and a cardboard boat race!
- Teams will make boats out of cardboard and duct tape, then race around a marked course on the beautiful Lake Hollingsworth.

Food Truck Wars

Venue: Downtown Winter Haven
- Food Truck Wars will feature 40 gourmet food trucks from across the state competing for five prestigious awards presented by celebrity judges.
- Joining the celebs in Winter Haven will be Cupcake Wars Champion and local resident Jillian Hopke as well as the Swamp Brothers.
- There will also be a LEGOLAND Florida Kids Zone to benefit Merlin’s Magic Wand, a Battle of the Bellys, Beer Garden and live music.


Good Health Fresh Goods and Crafts Market

Time Capsule Family Fun Day

 Leave your mark on Polk County history by creating items for a time capsule and joining the Polk County History Center as they close the capsule that won’t be opened for 25 years.
- Family Fun Day is a free event on the second Saturday of each month where children and their families can participate together in a new arts and crafts activity each month while learning about Polk County history.


Lunch and Learn Lecture Series

 The museum invites guests to bring lunch and listen to a guest speaker monthly on the third Tuesday.
